Traditional
Pools.

An example of the set up of a traditional swimming
pool with a plant room and sand filter system.

Tougher to Maintain .

While traditional pools can be the easiest way to acquire from local vendors and builders, there is little or negligible consideration on how well vendors may keep your swimming pool healthy, clean and useable round the year. Please note, a filtration system is just not enough. Maybe it's time to seek better holistic solutions.

Traditional Filtration

More Expensive
in the Long Run.

  • Tiles chipping off easily
  • Cracks and deformities due to internal ground movements
  • Pool can be made up of harmful and non compliant materials
  • Installation not certified by regulated bodies
  • Vendors may try saving costs and use cheap quality materials
  • Limitations in terms of shape and size
  • Moss / Algae build-up leading to frequent expensive services
  • Guarantees offered are conditional and not truly promising
The flooring developed for traditional pools may not meet your expectations. Experienced workmanship, engineering and technologies are a must to have a state of the art swimming pool that could last for decades to come. For a traditional pool to be constructed, multiple vendors are involved which results in a disorganised work force, delays in commitments, interdependency amongst each other to complete the job. The quality of materials may also vary from vendor to vendor.

The Restrictions.

  • Needs SIGNIFICANT space for Extensive pipe-work
  • A separate large plant room is required
  • Sand filter system causing wastage of water
  • Access to drainage required (more pipework)

Traditional Pools
take long to Construct!

  • Creation of a large pit / foundation is not only time consuming but also impractical
  • Be prepared to make space to accommodate the pump and filtration system which occupies significant space, thus compromising on the true useable area
  • No systematic steps involved in materialising a perfectly planned pooling system sourcing of materials and equipment can turn out to be a lengthy process

Other Issues

  • Primitive look & feel compared to Desjoyaux Pools
  • Sumps on the base of the pool
  • High electricity consumption
  • Filters around 20 microns (larger sized impurities) vs 15 – 6 microns for Desjoyaux Pools
  • Outdated aesthetics and structural limitations
